This is a rather shorter discussion that other post/thoughts I might have but it still can stand on two legs like the rest.
The location is ochanomizu of the Akihabara area of Tokyo, Japan. We’re here at the evening hours and boy howdy! It’s lit. We have just about everything working and advertising like it was midday. I was astonished by the crowds and overall activity. Fun? Yeah, there was a high in the sky and it tasted like pie. Seriously though, you could get lost in this mess and probably be pretty happy… and poor. The money grabbing was intense and spending was the topic of the area. If you can control this and you’re not drunk, you’ll be just fine.
The stores were inviting, cafe maids wanted you to visit, anime was busting down the speakers… Ah! How lovely. Very much a “normal” get away if I lived there but sigh. I do not live in this land of joy. I will continue to look upon the experience with awe and cherish the memory of the night life.
