The Square Enix Cafe!

So there is just about everything in Japan and I really, really mean that. In this case, we went to the cafe that was themed around Square Enix and it’s franchises!

The technical name for this location is ARTNIA Square Enix アルトニア. It’s located….Mmmm, Here!

6 Chome-27-30 Shinjuku, 新宿区 Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0022, Japan

This place was very cool and I would recommend going if you are ever in the area. While me and my group were there, totally off track from the “agenda” of the class by the way, we enjoyed some nice beverages. The cafe was split into a cafe for food and a store for merchandise. There is a final area that showcased the figures and jewelry that square sales on the side. Figures that are really expensive but obtainable right there and then.

After having the food and checking the store out, we all just observed the atmosphere the cafe brought. Dragon quest, final fantasy, kingdom hearts and more was in just a short couple of feet. I loved it and it was another successful trip I had planned before the trip even began.

Context to the video below:
We walked into the building, there was no one available to meet and greet. We waited and guessed there was some kind of self service to this business.
We were wrong. There was someone, eventually, that would seat us for business.
In the process of meeting this person, we accidentally picked up the menus, dropped all of them on the floor and making a total mess of things. Very rude and sad as tourist. Once we sat down, there was a conversation with the waiter about alcohol and we failed to communicate an answer correctly. This just contributed to the long standing issue with the language barrier in the “real world” of speaking a foreign language from the knowledge bank of a college classroom.
