We need to get to Japan somehow.
It is too early in the morning to function even 1% when we all met up at the first of many airport transfers. Our luggage varied on size and weight depending on what we absolutely needed on this trip. I had my brand new suitcase from Christmas 2015. Parents considered a suitcase as a solid present for any occasion. They were right.
Everyone is here, so we proceed. I’m nervous about needing to..uhh.. use the restroom too much on these flights but I drink a good ‘ol Rockstar energy drink anyways. I’m waking up. Getting through security for the first of a hundred times was really enjoyable. It was fine, on a real note. We wait to load into the first plane to an international airport.
The sky is pretty. The land below is splendid colors of yellows, greens, and browns. Checker patterns? Crop Fields? Who knows. The clouds are fluffy and candy-like. We’re about to land!
Welcome to the bigger-er airport. We get to enjoy layover time with our connecting flight.. the big flight. We find food, stretch our legs, and socialize. I play some 3DS games with the group. I’ve been playing a mixture of pokemon and final fantasy rhythm.
The flight is ready now, our butts are ready… right? No. This miserable metal can will take us for a 14 hour spin overseas. We board and I notice my seat with my buddy (predetermined seating), so we start to prepare. Music, games, shows, movies, word games, ANYTHING to get through this ridiculous flight. The food finally spawns, chicken or beef? Like hell if I know if I’ll enjoy one over the other. “Beef”. What a mess. I eat this meal surprisingly well. I won’t forget it.
14 hours later (but really 12.5-13, who cares) we land. We walk through customs happily. I find the post office so we can get our wifi. The post office’s are common in airports here. They have them! Mine, which is also my buddies, is set up in no time flat. We’re live. We’re in Narita and that is outside of Tokyo, our destination. We proceed to get out luggage and get a move on.
